We want to share the story of Viktor, a soldier who sustained severe burn injuries while carrying out a combat mission. Through our Wounded in Action Program, we were able to arrange his transfer abroad, where he is now receiving specialized burn treatment at a partner clinic. Viktor’s road to recovery is long — but he is not walking it alone. None of this would have been possible without our partners at @artesans.resq.ua whose support made Viktor’s transfer and treatment a reality. Stories like his are at the heart of everything we do: ensuring that those who give so much are not left without the care they deserve.

Today, we brought a little warmth to the children of Ukrainian defenders — those who are missing, have been killed, or are being held captive. We gave them school backpacks, packed and ready for the journey into a new school year. We embraced children — our future: we talked about freedom, about learning, about dreams still searching for their calling, and about Ukraine, which they already carry in their small but strong hearts. Together with our partners @for_family_values , @nataliia_fedorchuk1 and @zhinky_tro , in the incredible space @tsinnosty in the heart of Kyiv. For some children, that day meant sitting at a desk in a bright classroom. For others, it meant going down into a shelter — and that is where they continued writing the first lines of a new school year. Childhood should stay childhood even in the middle of a war. These children have already been through things no child should ever have to experience. Some have lost their fathers. Some wait every day for news of whether their dad will come home. Some have lost the homes that russia took from them. And yet, this generation growing up right now under the hardest circumstances will be the one to rebuild Ukraine. We are doing everything we can to ensure that, despite adversity and war, these children can keep light in their eyes and faith in a better future. Ми обіймали дітей - наше майбутнє: говорили про свободу, про навчання, про мрії, які ще тільки шукають свою професію, і про Україну, яку вони вже носять у своїх маленьких, але сильних серцях. War takes people suddenly: no goodbye, no explanation, no time to learn the truth. 30 August - International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances. Missing in action means days. Months. Years of waiting. A phone kept on through the night. A prayer repeated daily, with no way to know if it’s heard. Faith — the last thing to go out. Uncertainty should not last for years. This is why our programs exist: to bring names home. We stand with the families of the fallen and the missing — most of them foreign defenders of Ukraine, far from home. Distance only deepens the pain, deepens the not-knowing. Every case we handle with care and precision: professional guidance, support at every step, a path from uncertainty toward truth. Today, we stand beside more than 300 families across 35 countries. Some are still waiting for an answer. We will find it. War is written in names. Every one matters. None should stay unfound.

On August 29, we honor those who gave their lives to defend and secure Ukraine’s independence. This date marks one of the most tragic episodes of the Russian-Ukrainian war before the full-scale invasion, the breakout of Ukrainian troops from encirclement near Ilovaisk in 2014. The enemy violated its own agreements: Ukrainian soldiers were shot as they moved in columns through what was supposed to be a “green corridor.” Their route passed through sunflower fields. That is why the sunflower became the traditional symbol of this day of remembrance. On August 29, Defenders of Ukraine Day, thousands of people also joined the “Table of Memory” action, where visitors could write the name of a defender on a card to honor their sacrifice. Around 16,000 foreign volunteers from at least 72 countries serve in the armed forces of Ukraine. Today we cannot name them all, know their exact number, or tell every hero’s story. But we will do everything we can to bring their names home no matter which corner of the world they come from.

RTW HONOR HIKE. Our team hiked to drape the flags of our heroes — Ukrainian AND foreign born. We remember the missing and the fallen defenders who gave their all so we may still stand today. Their names will wave in Ukrainian skies. Their sacrifice will be honored with their birth flag flying next to the final flag they defended. With our hand pounding on our chest, we sing the anthem knowing the cost FOR FREEDOM. And we honor you, our defenders holding (and moving) the line. You charge forward so we may continue to call Ukraine home. Thank you to all who support the gold and blue.
